LEGAL AND COPYRIGHT INFORMATION
All content, including illustrations, dialogue, stories, situations, characters, character design, and original music featured on the Planet Jim website (Planet-Jim.net) is Copyright (c) Chris Woodward, unless otherwise indicated by Chris Woodward himself.
COLLABORATIONS
---------------
Collaborations are always welcome, provided Chris Woodward is assured the material will help enrich Planet-Jim.net. These collaborations may take the form of paid commissions, for which Chris Woodward will provide payment based on terms previously agreed to, or gifts.
As of September 21st, 2009, any work produced in collaboration with Chris Woodward must reference the creative input of Chris Woodward, WITHIN THE IMAGE ITSELF. In cases where Chris Woodward has supplied the illustrator with text and scenario, these must be referenced above the illustrator's copyright information, within the image, in the following format:
Text and scenario are Copyright (c) Chris Woodward, [year]
In cases where Chris Woodward has provided either text OR scenario, and not both, the above format may be changed to reflect this. The copyright information, however, must be written exactly as shown, with [year] changed to show the year in which the collaboration was produced.
Of course, a copyright logo may be used in place of the "c" surrounded by brackets.
All artists with whom Chris Woodward collaborates will receive full copyright for their share of the work, using the following format:
Drawing is Copyright (c) [artist's name] [year]
where [artist's name] is the name of the artist contributing the Drawing. Chris Woodward is well aware of how redundant the previous sentence is. In the case above, "Drawing" may be replaced with whatever function the collaborating artist performed, be it "Music", "Painting", "Text", etc. or any combination therein, as it pertains to the work in question. As a courtesy, Chris Woodward will also include this copyright information separately on the site itself, as a caption.
Any artwork produced prior to September 21st, 2009 is exempt from including Chris Woodward's copyright information within the image itself, PROVIDED THE ARTIST PROPERLY CREDITS CHRIS WOODWARD (either in name or under one of his online pseudonyms) ON THE SAME WEBPAGE OR PHYSICAL DOCUMENT CONTAINING THE ARTWORK. If the artist uses one of Chris Woodward's online pseudonyms, a link to either the Planet-Jim.net or eviljim.deviantart.com websites must be provided, either next to the pseudonym, or within it as hypertext.
Given the extent of the input from Chris Woodward, collaborations may not be sold or distributed for any monetary gain, without prior consent from Chris Woodward. They may be used in portfolios for employment purposes, but under NO circumstances may the artist ever claim ownership of the Planet Jim characters depicted, nor of any contributions Chris Woodward made to the artwork.
FANART
-------
Planet-Jim.net defines fanart as any unrequested artwork featuring one or more Planet Jim characters. Chris Woodward loves fanart, but it is imperative that you reference his ownership of the characters in the following format:
All characters are Copyright (c) Chris Woodward
No other references are necessary. Chris Woodward reserves the right to refuse posting any fanart that he deems inappropriate for Planet-Jim.net. This includes any blatantly pornographic, obscene, or otherwise lame artwork that totally sucks and that no respectable person would ever, ever want to look at. Ever.
Planet-Jim.net defines "obscenity" as creative works made for audiences with harmful interests, sexual or otherwise. In most cases, these interests carry the suffix "philia". Chris Woodward should not have to spell this one out for you.
Of course, nudity and non-pornographic fetish material do not count as obscenity, but that kind of material would be best displayed on the artist's own site.
